Thermocouple Welding Machine
A compact, production-ready welding system combining TIG sheath welding and capacitance discharge (CD) conductor welding into a single precision workstation for thermocouple manufacture. The machine delivers micrometer-accurate weld positioning and consistent weld quality across a wide range of cable diameters. Wear-resistant Elkonite jaw sets are used to withstand the thermal and electrical demands of both TIG and CD welding, ensuring long service life in production environments. Either an Olympus or Nikon stereoscopic microscope with high-intensity LED ring illumination provides clear inspection of the weld zone, while a dedicated welding-glass viewing window allows real-time observation during operation. Designed for sustained duty, the system incorporates active forced-air cooling and electrically over-rated key components for reliability.
A 2.5 m torch and detachable welding bed allow flexible machine layout, including remote torch positioning where required. Regulated argon gas delivery and an integrated blow-gun enable rapid removal of loose MgO powder, helping to minimise contamination during both TIG and capacitance discharge welding sequences. Each machine is configured for regional power requirements, enabling worldwide operation.
